93-Year-Old Woman Goes Viral With Her ‘I Need More Beer!!’ Sign

The COVID-19 outbreak of 2020 has had many people all over the nation stuck at home. Unless you’re an essential worker, most states have implemented mandates to stay at home unless absolutely necessary to leave. And while quarantining is a great way to slow the spread of the virus, it doesn’t mean it’s not difficult for some people to adhere to the rules.

However, most people understand at this point how important it is to avoid being out in public as much as possible—especially the elderly. As we learn more and more about the consequences of coronavirus, we know that older people, as well as people who are immunosuppressed, may be most at risk for a more dire case.

One 93-year-old named Olive Veronesi decided that she’d try to make the most of staying at home and enjoy a beer in the comfort of her home every so often. Why not, right?

However, when she ran out of her preferred Coors Lights, she realized she was in trouble. She knew she couldn’t risk her life to go to a liquor store herself to pick some more up…but she really needed more beer! How else was she going to relax each night?

Well, desperate times call for desperate measures. The Pennsylvania resident decided that in order for her to get what she wanted, she was going to need to get a little creative.

Olive decided to make her own sign to hold up to her window—almost like an SOS—in hopes that someone would see and help her out.

Her sign read, “I NEED MORE BEER!!” She held it up along with one of her precious Coors Lights so that people knew what type to get.

Everyone loves an elderly person demanding more alcohol, right? The photo of her holding up the sign and beer has since gone viral, racking up a million views on local station KDKA-TV’s Facebook page.

Ask and you shall receive. After the photo went viral, people couldn’t help to want to help Olive sending beer to her home left and right!

In fact, there has been so much response to the photo that KDKA noted on their page, “We have it on good authority that Olive will be getting her wish very soon.”

Nothing like a good deed at a time of crisis! To hear from Olive herself, check out the video below.

What do you think of Olive’s cry for help? Would you do the same to get some beer? What kinds of “desperate” acts have you found yourself engaging in throughout this crisis?
