As the coronavirus outbreak worsens in the United States, many of us are finding ourselves hunkered down in our homes, afraid to breathe anyone else’s air. We’re feeling anxious about everything from the economy to childcare, wondering when it’ll be appropriate to hug your best friend again. Times are scary for sure.
However, we will get through this if we remember that we’re all in this together. We just need some uplifting moments.
One of those moments came just a few days ago when a band of people decided that we should hang Christmas lights on our houses smack dab in the middle of March—just to give others a glimmer of home in a dark time.
Turns out that it really did put people in the right spirit—the Christmas spirit, which is one of the most joyous times of the year. To feed off of that sentiment, Hallmark, the holy grail channel responsible for Christmas movies around the holiday, has decided to join in.
This weekend, the network will be hosting a special Christmas movie marathon to keep people’s spirits up and offer some (super early) holiday cheer.
The marathon begins March 20 and 12 p.m. EST, offering a total of 27 holiday classics for you to enjoy from the comfort of your home
Start off with Candance Cameron Bure’s A Christmas Detour, and end with Christmas in Rome, at 6 p.m. EST on March 22. And in the middle of it all? All your favorites—A Shoe Addict’s Christmas, Snow Bride, The Sweetest Christmas and more.
You find the full marathon schedule here.
So go ahead: Make yourself some gingerbread cookies, pour the eggnog, and get cozy this weekend. What else can we do during this quarantine, after all?
How sweet is it for Hallmark to air Christmas movies to put us in a better frame of mind? Will you be joining in on the marathon this weekend?
