A flight attendant typically has the job to make sure their customers on an airplane are taken care of and get safely to their destination. But one flight attendant recently went above and beyond her job duties. Like, way beyond.

24-year-old flight attendant Patrisha Organo was working her shift on a Philippine Airlines flight when she heard a baby crying from the cabin. But it wasn’t just the standard cry.

“You know the difference between a cry of hunger, a cry of sleepiness, or a cry of something else,” Organo says, whose the mom to a one-year-old child herself, alluding to the fact that she could tell the baby was hungry.

When she went to go check out what was going on, the mother of the baby confirmed Organo’s suspicions, and through tears, told her that she had no more formula left and that she wasn’t able to feed her child.

“Passengers started looking and staring at the tiny, fragile crying infant,” Organo said. “There’s no formula milk onboard. I thought to myself, there’s only one thing I could offer and that’s my own milk.”

When she offered the idea to the mother—for Organo to breastfeed her child—she was not only for it, but extremely grateful for Organo’s help.

“I saw the relief on her mother’s eyes. I continued to feed the baby until she fell asleep. I escorted her back to her seat and just before I left, the mother sincerely thanked me,” Organo said.

Organo documented the story on her Facebook, which received more than 150,000 reactions with people praising her quick thinking and generosity.

You know what they say about mamas—it truly takes a village. It was so wonderful for Organo to step up like she did for this stranger’s baby.
