Fans Are Dragging Ellen Pompeo After She “Bragged” About Her Fight With Denzel Washington

“This is a good Denzel story,” Pomepo began the discussion before talking about how she gave another actor direction without consulting Denzel first when Washington guest-directed an episode of Grey’s Anatomy in 2016.
“[The other actor] made this choice to speak very softly,” Pompeo explained. “And [Meredith] was pissed that [she] had to sit there and listen to this apology, and he wasn’t looking at [her] in the eye.”
However, Washington didn’t take that very well. “[Denzel] was like, ‘I’m the director. Don’t you tell him what to do,’” Pompeo continued.
But apparently, Pompeo didn’t hold back. “I was like, ‘Listen mother f*cker, this is my show. This is my set. Who are you telling?’” she said. “Like, you barely know where the bathroom is!”
She went on to say how she then went and told Washington’s wife about the whole thing, and how she wans’t okay with what happened.
“And then his wife came to set to visit,” she said. “I was not talking to [Denzel], I was mad at him… I told his wife [that] he yelled at me today… And I’m not okay with him, and I’m not looking at him, and I’m not talking to him.”
She did conclude with how she respects Washington and even referred to the whole exchange an “amazing experience.”
We didn’t get through it without a fight, but that’s actors for you,” she said. “Passionate and fiery… and that’s where you get the good stuff. So, it was an amazing experience; it really was.”
