When you’re planning your wedding, of course you want to do everything in your power to make sure nothing goes wrong on the biggest day of your life. Most of the time, however, things DO go wrong—things that are out of your control.

Take this woman got scammed by a photographer whose work doesn’t even come close to what she advertised it as. While the bride didn’t know it then, in the weeks after her wedding, she was completely disappointed by the way this woman captured her big day.

That’s an extreme example. Sometimes the “wrong” thing is simply a child crying during your ceremony, or your future mother-in-law having a bit too much champagne at the reception. These are things that aren’t so fun in the moment, but stuff you usually laugh about later on.

You can always try to avoid a mishap by listening to what other brides regret about their wedding day, but the truth is, something is bound to go wrong on your wedding day, unfortunately. What level of “wrong” is the question.

Like most brides, this lady woke up on the morning of her wedding day the most excited she’s ever been. When all of her vendors began to arrive, it really started to put into perspective that the big day was really here.

After slipping on her getting-ready robe, the bride went on to get her hair and makeup professionally done. So far, everything about the day was going great! It wasn’t until the videographer arrived when things started to go a bit south.

The videographer asked the bride to step outside into the natural light to get a good shot of her opening the gift her groom got her, one of the most important scenes in a wedding video. The bride did as she was told, and took the present outside to open.

The bride made sure to open the gift very slowly…so slowly in fact, that this was all she was concentrating on. She really wanted to make sure the shot would be memorable and perfect—and she was so invested in it that she had no idea what was about to go on behind her.

When the bride finally got the box open, she was so happy to see what was inside: Her groom got her a gorgeous pair of earrings to wear with her wedding gown on the big day. “These are amazing! He got me earrings,” she exclaimed, excitedly.

But right at that very moment, the bride’s dog had wandered behind her in the shot. He completely stole the show with what he did—but, consequently, it kind of ruined the special moment and the video. Thankfully, this bride was able to see the humor in the moment!

Would you be upset if your dog did this during your wedding video? What kinds of things went unplanned at your wedding? If you’re not married, what about a friend or family member’s wedding?
