It sometimes happens that before a couple decides to have children they try their hand at raising a pet like a cat or a dog. These pets are often like the family’s first children. Then, when the time comes to welcome an actual human baby into the family, you never know how the baby is going to react to the pet and how the pet is going to react to the baby.
We’ve seen multiple adorable instances between little kids and family pets. One that comes to mind is a little girl who is holding a little kitten. The mother cat isn’t too happy about it and rescues the kitten from the little girl’s grasp. Needless to say, the little girl is not at all happy when the mother cat takes her kitten away.
Another instance that comes to mind is when a 3-year-old girl and her dog wandered off by themselves. The little girl got lost, and a search party didn’t find her until the next day. The little girl said she wasn’t scared because she had her dog with her to protect her.
That brings us to today’s story which is about a baby and the family dog. In a now viral video, mom brings her little baby home from the hospital, and the baby gets to meet the family dog for the first time, or rather, the family dog gets to meet the new baby for the first time. The baby is actually asleep during the entire video. Babies do sleep a lot.
When the video begins, the little baby is still in the car seat which is setting on the ground. The family dog, a Shiba Inu, looks at the sleeping baby in the car seat. We can only imagine what mom must be thinking, probably hoping for a positive interaction of some sort. We’re sure she wasn’t disappointed.
We’re so glad this interaction was recorded because the Shiba Inu could not have had a more perfect reaction. After taking a moment to gaze at the new baby, the dog puts its paw on the car seat and gently rocks it back and forth. We mean, come on, how could it be more perfect? This dog has good instincts for sure!
The video only gets sweeter as the dog continues to gaze affectionately at the new owner. We’re sure these two are going to be lifelong friends.
