If you have pets, they probably watch TV with you. If you have a cat or dog who likes to cuddle on your lap, there have probably been many times when you’ve snuggled with your pets while binge watching Netflix of enjoying your favorite movie.

Most pet owners probably don’t think about the pets actually watching TV. They probably assume the pet is simple enjoying the cuddle time, but are pets paying attention to what is happening on the screen? It seems that they are. Some pet owners have caught their pets on camera reacting to what they see on the TV screen.

TikTok user @rustymetalcreation shared a video of his golden retriever watching Star Wars. In the video, the golden retriever is cuddled on the couch on top of a blanket. The video pans back and forth between the TV and the dog.

As soon as Darth Vader appears on the screen, the dog tries to hide. She jumps off the couch and hides behind it while still watching the screen. Watch @rustymetalcreation’s TikTok below to see this dog’s reaction to seeing Darth Vader for the first time yourself.

Other viewers point out how similar this dog’s reaction is to a human reaction. One TikTok user wrote, “This is the dog equivalent of hiding behind your hands but still watching the movie through the gaps between your fingers.”
