“There was this really smart scientist guy who thought that people could learn a lot from dogs. He said that when someone you love walks through the door, even if it happens five times a day, you should go totally insane with joy.”

That quote is from a very touching video about a dog named Denali and his owner Ben.

The video opens talking about how people think a bad day is when you can’t find a parking spot at the grocery store or your shoes get wet. But as you’ll see in this video, both Ben and Denali have very different definitions of a “bad day”.

It’s a touching and heartwarming story about friendship and love and challenges and battles and what it means to be there for each other.

Ben Moon is a professional adventure photographer. In 2004, he was diagnosed with cancer. While in the hospital, Denali remained by his side, refusing to leave and also being careful not to lie where Ben was in pain and did not invade Ben’s personal space. Ben battled the cancer and became cancer-free in 2005.

Ben and Denali traveled together as Ben continued life as a photographer. But then Denali was hit with cancer and began to suffer. Ben was there by Denali’s side, right up until the end in February, 2014. Denali lived to be 14-years-old and enjoyed an incredible life with Ben. Ben has captured so many amazing memories with Denali, including many you’ll see in this touching video, as told from the point of view of Denali.
