Every parent out there probably has at least one daycare nightmare story to share if you’ve had to find child care outside the family. It is extremely hard to find someone you can trust with your child’s life.

This is especially true when the little ones are too young to give you a report about their day. One adoptive mom – who has chosen to remain anonymous – got the shock of her life when she popped up early to pick up her baby girl from daycare.

The mother shared that she feeds her baby formula as she can’t produce milk. She thought she found the perfect caregiver for her daughter in a woman with two children of her own who ran a home-based child center for at least five years.

She told Slate’s “Dear Prudence” that on her child’s first day, the woman made a slick comment about the formula and bottles but she ignored it. Fast forward two months later and when mom showed up early one Friday to get her baby, she found the daycare provider nursing her child. She’d been doing it the whole time!

The mother stated:

“I marched over, took the baby from her arms, and asked her if she was crazy. The provider said that she was saving my baby from chemicals I was trying to force into her body and I should thank her for doing it all these months! I didn’t say anything; I just grabbed the diaper bag and got the hell out of there.”

She sought Prudence’s advice on whether or not she should report the lady or spread the word on social media to other parents. Prudence said report her!

The woman violated the trust agreement that happens between parent and caregiver that ensures you care for a child according to the instructions left by said parent. People should not take such liberties with your child without your consent. Further, breast milk is a bodily fluid.

How would you act in this situation? Would you report her to a supervisory agency or go on social media? Would you be upset about the breastfeeding or no?
