Michael Gardner has always been a creative person. He has tried a lot of different ways of channeling his creativity, such as writing, painting and cooking, but it wasn’t until he tried sewing that he knew he had found the best creative activity for him. He explained, “I appreciate the ability to create a garment that began as an idea in my thoughts and seeing the piece walk the streets either on myself or Ava is an amazing feeling.”
Gardner wanted his daughter Ava to feel self-confident, so he decided to try turning thrift store clothes into custom clothes for her. She was only three years old when he started this new hobby back in 2014. Since then, he has started a blog and an Instagram account where Ava models the clothes her dad makes.
Gardner explained, “Being a Father is my most important responsibility and what I am most proud of in life. It is a blessing to be able to combine my journey of fatherhood with my love of creativity while creating memories with my child.”
