It’s always exciting news when you find out you’re going to have a baby. It doesn’t matter if it’s your first child or if you already have children. Each new positive pregnancy test signifies a miracle, and it’s truly life changing for the parents and any older children.
It seems that it’s usually men who plan marriage proposals. Sometimes it might be spontaneous where they just carry the ring around in their pocket for days or weeks waiting for the right moment. Other times it might be an elaborately planned surprise.
Well, if men get to decide how to pop the question, it’s usually the women who get to decide how to deliver the news that they’re having a baby. Sometimes, the lady tells her partner right away, but other times she might plan a special way to deliver the news.
When the couple already has children, mom also gets to decide who to tell first, their father or the kids. If she tells dad first, then he can help her plan a way to tell the kids the joyous news; although, sometimes little kids aren’t too excited about adding another sibling to the family. If she tells the kids first, they can help her deliver the news to dad, which can be extra precious.
One mom who already had two kids decided to take a pregnancy test before breakfast. She didn’t tell her husband that she was taking the test. We’re not sure if they were hoping to have a third child or not, but for whatever reason, she felt the need to take the test. It came up positive.
Instead of telling her husband the news right away, she let him continue with his morning as usual. However, she didn’t keep the news to herself. She told her son and asked him to help her tell dad the news.
Imagine being the father in this case. You haven’t been awake all that long. It’s a typical day. You’re sitting at the table eating cereal all by yourself, probably enjoying a few quiet moments.
Then, your wife comes in, and she’s recording you. You know something’s up, but you’re not quite sure what. She says, “We’re going to teach you something.” You have no idea what that means, but you stop eating your cereal, wondering what is going on.
Then, your son crawls up on your lap, and he’s babbling something in toddler speak. You can’t figure out what he’s saying at first, but it almost sounds like “baby” and “belly.” You look at your wife, trying to read her facial expressions. Is he saying what you think he’s saying? You say, “What?” You’re not able to hold back a hopeful smile.
That’s exactly how things play out in the video below. Dad’s facial expressions are truly priceless, especially when his son hands him something that really explains what is going on.
If you have kids, how did you share the news that you were pregnant with your partner, or if you’re the dad, how did your partner share the news with you?
