Sometimes parents need a break from the kids. And it’s totally normal to tag team with your spouse, giving each other quick breaks when the exhaustion is setting in the most.

However, in the case of one woman of newborn twins, the husband was just taking his own breaks without informing his wife. She caught on when she realized how much time he spent in the bathroom. Not even her husband needed that much time to do his business!

Don’t worry, she refused to stand for it. She informed him that if he retreated to the bathroom for that long again, she was going to disable the wi-fi.

She vented about it in a recent Reddit thread that had a lot of moms pretty pissed off.

“My husband and I are the parents of twins who are less than a year old. Anytime my husband SHOULD be doing something with the children (it’s his turn for a diaper, a bottle, even just soothing a fussy newborn) he ALWAYS goes to the bathroom first,” she explained.

She prefaced the post saying that her husband is on a medication that does interfere with his bathroom habits. However, after beginning to keep track of how long he was in there, she soon realized that he was not always only in there for the reasons people use a toilet.

“Over the past couple months he has been spending more and more time in there,” she said. “He always takes his phone. He is always watching YouTube. His average session is 25 minutes in there, often longer, rarely shorter.”

This makes it incredibly difficult for the woman to feed her babies. “I will warm up bottles, change one baby bum, get the first one fed, burped, and laid down in their crib, get the other baby changed and be settling down to feed baby number two before he can be bothered to emerge and figure out why one child has been screaming,” she says.

When she told her husband that he had a 10-minute bathroom limit or else the wi-fi flip goes off, he obliged but was pretty upset about it. And the woman wasn’t quite sure how to react to that. “I feel like the fact that without the wi-fi his uncontrollable toilet issue cleared up rather quickly proves why it needs to be done, but he feels I am being unreasonable, and I need to make sure sleep deprivation isn’t making me an a**hole.”

Most of Reddit informed her she is in no way being the jerk here. Not only is caring for a newborn hard, caring for two is twice as hard, and many people agreed it wasn’t fair for her husband to leave every time it got difficult. However, some felt she was being passive-aggressive and suggested speaking with him directly (though the woman later edited her post to explain she has talked to her husband many times).
