At 57 years old, Friends actress Courteney Cox has had some cosmetic procedures in the past to make her look younger. However, over time, she realized that what she was doing actually wasn’t making her look any better—more just, a little bit strange.

Those are her words, not ours! “There was a time when you go, ‘Oh, I’m changing. I’m looking older.’ And I tried to chase that [youthfulness] for years. And I didn’t realize that, oh s***, I’m actually looking really strange with injections and doing stuff to my face that I would never do now,” Cox stated in an interview with The Sunday Times Style.

Experts say that the more cosmetic surgeries you get, the more you adapt to the look, making it very easy to develop a new baseline and overdo it. And that’s exactly where Cox recently found herself.

She truly noticed her “strange” appearance after her close friends were discussing the way she looked. “I’d say, the day you realize what your friends were talking about. Because people would talk about me, I think. But there was a period where I went, ‘I’ve got to stop. That’s just crazy.’”

This isn’t the first time Cox has addressed the work she’s done. In 2017, she told NewBeauty magazine that getting older is especially in Hollywood, and how doctors were always offering a way to make her look younger, such as injections and fillers.

“What would end up happening is that you would go to a doctor who would say, ‘You look great, but what would help is a little injection here or filler there,’” she said. “You walk out and you don’t look so bad and you think, no one noticed — it’s good. Then, somebody tells you about another doctor… the next thing you know, you’re layered and layered. You have no idea, because it’s gradual.”

But Cox has had enough. She has recently dissolved her fillers and wants to attempt a more natural approach to her look. “The scrutiny is intense, but I don’t know if it could be more intense than what I put on myself. I’m a product w****. I will try anything,” she said.
