In addition, Fleetwood Mac also released a statement on Instagram writing, “There are no words to describe our sadness at the passing of Christine McVie. She was truly one-of-a-kind, special and talented beyond measure. She was the best musician anyone could have in their band and the best friend anyone could have in their life. We were so lucky to have a life with her. Individually and together, we cherished Christine deeply and are thankful for the amazing memories we have. She will be so very missed.”

The band Fleetwood Mac originally formed in 1967, and McVie joined the band in 1970. She remained a key member of the band until 1998 when she announced that she was going to be leaving the band, in part, because she no longer liked traveling by airplane. She rejoined the band in 2014.

McVie also had a solo career for awhile. Two of her solo hits include “SongBird” and “Got a Hold on Me.” You can watch her perform these songs in the videos below.

Her family did not include a cause of death. RIP
