Getting pregnant isn’t easy for every woman. Some couples who desperately want to have a baby suffer from infertility issues and have to find alternative ways to conceive. In some cases, couples may turn to IVF and/or have a surrogate carry the baby.
Chrissy Teigen and her husband, John Legend, have been very open about their fertility struggles and pregnancy loss. Two years ago, Teigen shared the heartbreaking news that her son, whom she had been pregnant with for 20 weeks, was not going to survive. She had to deliver him at 20 weeks old knowing he wouldn’t make it.
After grieving the loss of the baby they called Jack, Teigen later revealed that she was doing IVF and hoping to get pregnant again. Months went by without an update. Was she still hoping to get pregnant?
Yes. Yes she was. In fact, it turns out that IVF worked, and she has been pregnant for awhile. Teigen revealed in an Instagram post that “1 billion shots later…we have another on the way.”
It turns out that Teigen has been wanting to reveal the pregnancy news for awhile, but she has stopped herself multiple times because she was scared something might happen. She explained, “Every appointment I’ve said to myself, ‘ok if it’s healthy today I’ll announce’ but then I breathe a sigh of relief to hear a heartbeat and decide I’m just too nervous still.”
Teigen finally felt ready to announce her pregnancy since “everything is perfect and beautiful and I’m feeling hopeful and amazing.”
She seems very happy to finally have her big secret out in the open. She wrote, “Ok phew it’s been very hard keeping this in for so long!”
