CHOCOLATE STOUT BROWNIES

You’ll Need

Brownies
– 1 – 18-ounce box dry brownie mix
– ¼ cup dark stout
– ½ cup unsalted butter
– 4 ounces dark chocolate, finely chopped
– 1 egg
Glaze
– 5 ounces dark chocolate
– 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
– ½ cup dark stout

How To

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (180 degrees Celsisus).
  2. In a small sauce pot over medium heat, melt the ½ cup butter with the ¼ cup dark stout.
  3. In a bowl, pour the butter-stout over the 4 ounces of dark chocolate. Stir until the chocolate has all melted.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, pour the liquid over the dry brownie mix. Stir until just combined.
  5. Add the egg and stir until just combined.
  6. Scoop the batter into an individual brownie pan or a 12-cup muffin tin. You can also use a regular 9-inch-by-13-inch baking pan, if you prefer.
  7. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, if using the individual brownie pan or muffin tin. If using the regular baking pan, bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
  8. Let the brownies cool to room temperature before glazing.
  9. To make the glaze, melt the 3 tablespoons butter and ½ cup dark stout in a small saucepan over medium heat. Pour over the 5 ounces dark chocolate. Stir until the chocolate has all melted and the glaze is shiny.
  10. Drizzle the glaze over each individual brownie. Let set for an hour before serving so the glaze can dry.
