CHOCOLATE STOUT BROWNIES
You’ll Need
Brownies
– 1 – 18-ounce box dry brownie mix
– ¼ cup dark stout
– ½ cup unsalted butter
– 4 ounces dark chocolate, finely chopped
– 1 egg
Glaze
– 5 ounces dark chocolate
– 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
– ½ cup dark stout
How To
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (180 degrees Celsisus).
- In a small sauce pot over medium heat, melt the ½ cup butter with the ¼ cup dark stout.
- In a bowl, pour the butter-stout over the 4 ounces of dark chocolate. Stir until the chocolate has all melted.
- In a large mixing bowl, pour the liquid over the dry brownie mix. Stir until just combined.
- Add the egg and stir until just combined.
- Scoop the batter into an individual brownie pan or a 12-cup muffin tin. You can also use a regular 9-inch-by-13-inch baking pan, if you prefer.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, if using the individual brownie pan or muffin tin. If using the regular baking pan, bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
- Let the brownies cool to room temperature before glazing.
- To make the glaze, melt the 3 tablespoons butter and ½ cup dark stout in a small saucepan over medium heat. Pour over the 5 ounces dark chocolate. Stir until the chocolate has all melted and the glaze is shiny.
- Drizzle the glaze over each individual brownie. Let set for an hour before serving so the glaze can dry.
Notes
- Be sure to use dry brownie mix ONLY. Do not add the ingredients and/or the quantity of ingredients listed on the box; use the ones listed here instead! We use the stout instead of water and unsalted butter instead of oil.
