Cherry Limeade Smoothie

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if all of our favorite treats made us feel as good as they taste? We teamed up with our friends at Cheribundi® to create one that does. This icy and refreshing cherry limeade smoothie is bursting with tart cherry and tangy lime flavor because it’s made with fresh fruit and juice — perfect for quick & healthy breakfast or an afternoon pick-me-up. Plus, we’ll show you a life-changing a mason jar blender hack that we’re totally obsessed with.

Think of this as a fresh and natural DIY of your favorite drive-through drink. You only need 5 wholesome ingredients: Cheribundi tart cherry juice, a squeeze of lime, ice cubes, a drizzle of honey, and frozen banana chunks (to make it extra creamy).

We used about 8 ounces of Cheribundi, which means that there are 50 tart cherries packed into this smoothie! Those little red gems contain naturally occurring anthocyanins, a powerful phytonutrient that has been shown to help reduce inflammation and aid in muscle recovery. Which makes this cherry limeade smoothie a pretty amazing workout recovery drink.

Can we talk about this mason jar blender hack for a second, though? Why didn’t we try this sooner? Turns out, your blender blade and a standard (not a wide-mouth) mason jar make one dynamic duo. Screw the mason jar onto the blade where the blender pitcher would go, and you can blend a single-serving smoothie right in the jar and take it with you (it works best with your blender’s pulse setting). That means no gloppy pouring, and less mess. It also means you can prep little smoothie kits in mason jars and keep them in the fridge so that all you have to do in the morning is whip n’ sip. Life-changing, right? Just don’t try this trick with hot liquids, since the pressure can build up and explode.
