Yesterday, Kirstie Alley‘s children announced the sad news that their mother has died. They turned to the late actress’s social media accounts to share the news with the public. She lost her life due to a battle with cancer that had only recently been diagnosed.

Alley is probably best known for her role on the sitcom “Cheers,” but she had many other acting roles throughout her long career in Hollywood. Some notable credits include the “Look Who’s Talking” movies, “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan,” “Fat Actress,” and “Dancing with the Stars.”

While some celebrities die with little money left to their name, that was not the case with Alley. She actually saved up quite an enviable fortune. According to Celebrity Net Worth, it is estimated that she had a net worth of approximately $40 million. Not too shabby. No word yet on how that fortune will be dispersed amongst her relatives or favorite charities.

Throughout Alley’s career, she was rewarded not only in money but also in actual awards. In 1991, she won an Emmy for her role as Rebecca Howe on “Cheers.” She also won a Golden Globe that same year for her role on the hit sitcom. In 1994, she won another Emmy for her role on the TV movie “David’s Mother.”

Besides acting roles, Alley was also a spokesperson for Jennie Craig. While she was compensated for promoting the company, she also managed to use the company’s program to drop 75 pounds.

Alley’s net worth also included real estate. In 2000, she bought Lisa Marie Presley’s home in Florida for $1.5 million. Previously, she owned a mansion in Los Angeles that she sold in 2021 for $7.8 million. She also previously owned a home in Maine that she sold in 2020.

Does it surprise you that Alley had such a high net worth? Who do you think will inherit her belongings? Do you think it will be split between her children, or do you Alley had different last wishes?
