Bob Saget’s death was unexpected and shocking. One night he’s performing stand up comedy. The next day, he never wakes up. He was only 65.
Many TV viewers of the shows “Full House,” “Fuller House” and “America’s Funniest Home Videos” are saddened by the news of his unexpected passing, but those who knew him best are experiencing real grief that their friend is gone way too soon.
Candace Cameron Bure played Saget’s daughter on “Full House” and “Fuller House.” She was only 10 years old when she started playing the role of DJ Tanner, the oldest of three daughters on the show. She grew up with Saget making a big influence in her life, and they remained friends through the years.
After learning about Saget’s death, Cameron Bure posted a series of photos on Instagram. In two of them she was hugging Saget. In one of them, he was holding her hand while she wore a wedding dress for an episode of “Fuller House.” She wrote, “I love you sooooo much. I don’t want to say goodbye. 35 years wasn’t long enough.”
The very next day, Cameron Bure shared another post, this time it was signed by all of the cast members of “Full House.” The group wrote, “Thirty-five years ago, we came together as a TV family, but we became a real family. And now we grieve as a family. Bob made us laugh until we cried. Now our tears flow in sadness, but also with gratitude for all the beautiful memories of our sweet, kind, hilarious, cherished Bob. He was a brother to us guys, a father to us girls and a friend to all of us. Bob, we love you dearly. We ask in Bob’s honor, hug the people you love. No one gave better hugs than Bob. ~ John, Dave, Candace, Jodie, Lori, Andrea, Scott, Jeff, Ashley and Mary-Kate”
After having a few days to process the loss of her friend, Cameron Bure has added another post. This time it’s lengthier and even more heartfelt. Watch the video below to hear what she wrote.
