This past weekend, you either did or you didn’t catch the royal wedding and all its fanfare. At its center was the enamored couple Prince Harry and Meghan Markle – now the Duke and Duchess of Sussex – whose union managed to capture hearts all over the world.
With all the hoopla and attention surrounding the event in the past few months and weeks, everyone probably feels a small sense of relief that it is finally over. But that hasn’t stopped people from talking about and sharing the moments they found inspirational, cool, emotional, or entertaining.
And there were many that fit the bill! First, how about that gown? Simplistic yet elegant, the dress highlighted Meghan Markle’s radiance and natural beauty.
When she stepped out of the car, cheers could be heard from the crowd as they took in the sight of the smiling bride in her Givenchy gown and detailed, embroidered veil. Cameras caught Prince Harry’s face as he got his “first look” at his bride walking down the aisle. It was so sweet, as was her mother’s gaze.
Flushed, he smiled once he saw her but it got sweeter from there. Thanking Prince Charles for escorting her partway down the aisle, he then mouthed to Meghan, “You look amazing. I’m so lucky.” If you can’t read lips, that was the translation!
The two lovebirds couldn’t stop grinning at each other throughout the ceremony, and even exchanged a look or two during Bishop Michael’s Curry sermon.
And let’s talk about that for a minute! In a spirited (and lengthy) address that referenced Martin Luther King Jr., the reverend emphasized the power of love and fire.
It certainly added some oomph to the traditional style and tone that people are used to at royal weddings, and wound up being the most “tweeted” moment during the event. While it was clear that some of the guests felt awkward, many were moved by his words and energy. It was one for the books!
Though the entire event was filled with fairytale sprinklings, perhaps one of the most memorable few seconds was during the couple’s first public kiss. There, standing on the stairs of the chapel and framed by beautiful flowers, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared a small smooch in front of adoring onlookers.
It looked like something straight out of a Disney movie. With their family members standing behind them – and Princess Charlotte’s precious wave – they rode off in a horse-drawn carriage. The looks of love and affection shared between these two were never-ending in a day filled with splendor, happiness, and genuine smiles.

What were some of your favorite parts of the wedding and procession? Could you feel some of emotions in the room even though you weren’t there?
