Every mom has caught her child drawing on some out-of-bounds surface or using colorful household items as crayons. It seems like a right of passage for toddlers, to draw on a wall or mirror with anything from markers to makeup.
So when Laura Hopkins caught her two-year-old scribbling on her mirror with lipstick, she wasn’t too surprised. What did catch her off guard? When her teaching moment turned into her little boy blaming a very unexpected person.
When the video starts up, her adorable son (his cute little glasses are killing us) is standing next to a full-length mirror. All we can see is the very bottom of the mirror, which has been covered in pink lipstick scribbles.
Laura asks her little boy if he knows who drew on mommy’s mirror, and the little boy immediately walks away from the scene of the crime! He gives a very convincing, “I don’t know!” but that isn’t quite enough to fool is mother.
Next, Laura asks if he was the one who drew of the mirror and the little boy nervously denies the accusation. All pretty standard…but what we weren’t expecting was what he says next.
“It was Batman,” he says, matter-of-factly.
From behind the camera, we hear Laura snort with laughter.
“Batman?” She asks. And her son quickly reasserts that it was Batman, Batman was the one who drew on her bedroom mirror.
Sadly, the video ends there, but it’s enough to have us doubled over with laughter! We can only imagine that they must have had quite the conversation about what Batman did and how he and Robin should probably stay out of mom’s makeup drawer in the future.
