Bar Puts Restrictions on the Amount of Times That ‘All I Want For Christmas’ Can Be Played on the Jukebox
Some people love celebrating the holidays as early as possible. Hallmark Channel even started airing new Christmas movies the weekend before Halloween.
Other people don’t like to jump straight from Halloween to Christmas. They feel it’s too soon to decorate or start playing Christmas music.
Then there are people who not only want to wait until after Thanksgiving to celebrate Christmas, but there are also certain songs they would prefer not to hear over and over again.
One self-described dive bar in Texas named Stoneleigh P has made an unusual and attention-getting stand on Christmas and one particular song on their juke box. They posted a sign on the juke box that alerts customers about the restrictions on this particular sign. The sign reads, “‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ will be skipped if played before Dec. 1. After Dec. 1 the song is only allowed one time a night.”

Laura Garrison, the general manager at Stoneleigh P, told CNN that the sign doesn’t mean that she hates Mariah Carey or Christmas. The problem is that customers tend to play the song over and over again long before Christmas. When the employees hear the song start, all they have to do is press a button on a remote to skip it.
