This Video of a Baby Duck Falling Asleep With A Flower On Its Head Will Heal Your Soul

2020 sure hasn’t been anyone’s year—from COVID-19 to murder hornets and all of the craziness in between, we’re all just looking for something to make us smile and get us through these tough days.

Luckily, the internet always has the answer. A recent video of a duck falling asleep with a flower on its head has gone viral and is the purest thing you will see today, and possibly ever. Yes, we are completely serious.

The video was originally shared on the Mother The Mountain Farm’s Instagram page, which captioned the adorableness with:

“A sleepy ducky under a nasturtium flower sun hat, having a nap in the middle of the mint garden. This little one is from our latest batch of Call ducks that hatched two days ago! She came out of her egg backward and we don’t have a name for her yet — should we call her Nasturtium?”

Nasturtium sounds like the perfect name for such a precious duckling, doesn’t it?

While it didn’t go viral just yet, the video was later shared on Twitter by a user named @wamlart, captioning it: “If u are feeling sad pls look at this cute duck.” See the post below!

That post alone was Nasturtium’s claim to fame, garnering nearly 830,000 likes and almost 300,000 retweets. Followers just couldn’t get enough of this sweet little sleepy creature. The slow eyes closing, the flower hat falling over in the wind—it makes our (and everyone else’s) hearts tingle with delight.

This one comment from a follower sums it up: “This is literally the cutest [thing] I’ve ever seen,” one person replied. “I was already gushing but when the baby fell asleep and the flower hat fell off…”

Pretty much everyone else felt the same. In fact, some even began to tweet artwork that they made as a result of seeing little Nasturtium fall asleep with a flower on its head. Behold, our favorite: a drawing:
