On Friday August 5, 2022, actress Anne Heche was involved in a fiery car crash. She crashed her blue Mini Cooper into a garage before speeding away and crashing into a home in the Mar Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles.

TMZ shared footage of Heche’s car after she crashed into the garage. She is seen speeding away at the end of this video.

TMZ also shared footage of Heche speeding down a neighborhood street only moments before she crashed into the home.

Here’s another video of Heche speeding through the neighborhood.

It took 59 firefighters over an hour to remove Heche from her vehicle and to rescue the homeowner who was inside the home at the time of the crash. Both the car and the home were on fire. Watch the video below for more details about the car crash.

Heche was hospitalized for her injuries. The homeowner did not sustain any injuries, but she did lose her home and all of her belongings inside. Watch the video below for an update on the crash and to hear from one of the homeowner’s neighbors.

According to a GoFundMe set up for the homeowner, Lynne Mishele, she “lost her entire lifetime of possessions, mementos, all equipment for her business including her laptop and iPad, all of her clothing and basic necessities, and all household items.” The goal of the fundraiser is to help Mishele start over. A representative for Heche told CNN, “Anne is currently in stable condition. Her family and friends ask for your thoughts and prayers and to respect her privacy during this difficult time.”

The police have yet to talk to Heche as she recovers in the hospital, so it is not yet clear what happened before she was speeding through the neighborhood and crashed her car; however, Heche does have a history of mental illness. In 2020, she wandered up to a stranger’s home in the desert and she later told the police that “God, and was going to take everyone back to heaven in a spaceship.” She was admitted to the psychiatric unit at Fresno’s University Medical Center.

In 2001, Heche said on national TV that she was the daughter of God and her name was “Celestia.” She claimed to have contact with extraterrestrial life.
