If you’re suffering from an ant problem in your home, you need not search further than your pantry to find a solution to your woes. All you’ll need to create your own non-toxic ant killer is some baking soda, powdered sugar and jar lids (or similar containers) to hold your mixture.
Combine 1 part baking soda with 1 part powdered sugar. Then pour some of the mixture into jar lids and place strategically around the problem areas of your home. After a few days, you should start to notice the ants start to disappear.
According to Apartment Therapy:
From what I have read, ants cannot differentiate between baking soda and powdered sugar because they are similar in size. The sugar attracts the ants, and the baking soda is what kills them: It reacts with the acid in their digestive system and they explode.
