Actor Tom Sizemore, who is best known for his role in the movie “Saving Private Ryan,” was rushed to the hospital on Saturday February 18, 2023.

Sizemore’s manager, Charles Lago, told TMZ that Sizemore was at his home in Los Angeles on Saturday when all of a sudden around 2am he suffered from a brain aneurysm and collapsed onto the floor, completely unconscious.

Thankfully, someone found Sizemore quickly after the brain aneurysm occurred and called 911. He was rushed to a nearby hospital and is still hospitalized. He was put in the intensive care unit, and his condition was listed as critical condition.

Lago described Sizemore’s condition as being in a “bad way.” It is currently unclear whether or not he is expected to make a full recovery.  Lago told CNN that that Sizemore’s condition is a “wait and see situation.” Sizemore is 61 years old.

Sizemore’s family is aware of his condition and is “waiting for updates.”

According to the Mayo Clinic, a brain aneurysm is a bulge in a blood vessel in the brain. If the aneurysm ruptures, it leaks blood into the brain and can be life-threatening.

The most common symptom of a ruptured aneurysm is a severe headache that happens suddenly. Other symptoms may include stiff neck, nausea, seizure, blurred or double vision, losing consciousness, light sensitivity, confusion, seizure or a drooping eyelid.

Call 911 immediately if you or someone you’re with has a severe, sudden headache that could be described as the worst headache ever.

Causes of a brain aneurysm are currently unknown but risk factors include older age, smoking cigarettes, heavy alcohol consumption, drug abuse, especially cocaine abuse, and high blood pressure.

In 2010, Sizemore told CNN’s Larry King that he had previously been addicted to cocaine, heroin and meth.

Many fans and celebrities have taken to Twitter to wish Sizemore a speedy recovery.
