Nail polish remover exists because nail polish can be, um, well, tough to remove. But nail polish’s durability also makes it quite useful in a number of interesting ways.

We came across an article from Reader’s Digest that lists 38 clever uses for nail polish. There are a few major themes running through the list: Because it’s hard to remove, you can use dark-colored nail polish to put marks on objects, such as making poison labels or marking sports gear (like golf balls). You can use clear nail polish to prevent smudging, and also use it to prevent rust and to provide a seal.
