14 Unique Oil and Grease Stain Removers

When you get an oil or grease stain on an item of clothing, do you immediately sigh with defeat? There’s no need to if you have some common household solutions to use. Take a look at some of the fiercest, unlikely stain fighters that might be lurking in your cabinets or refrigerator:

  1. Hair Spray on Fabric: just spray the oil or grease stain liberally with hair spray. Then wash and air dry for the full effect.
  2. Cheez Whiz on Fabric: the stain guru on “The View” apparently swears by this method. Apply goopy Cheez Whiz (or the generic version) to an oil or grease stain and smear it in well. Toss your garment in the wash and the grease should come right out.
  3. WD-40 on Fabric and Concrete: try spraying stains on fabric or concrete with WD-40 and letting it soak for about 30 minutes. Then rub a little dish soap into the stain and wash as directed.
  4. Coca-Cola: just pour some Coke on the stain and let it soak for an hour or two. Then wash and air dry. There should be no sign of the stain or the coke afterward.
