10 Habits to Quit to Be Happier

Being happy in life starts with bit of self analysis. Here are some tips from Marc and Angel Hack life that you can apply to money but most importantly you can apply to the way you live in general:

Quit Procrastinating on Goals

Dreaming of success and actually working toward it are two very different things. Putting off your goals just makes them more difficult to achieve and harder to start working on. So instead of freaking out about getting to the finish line, get started now with small steps. Small steps will add up day by day and your goals will get closer and closer.

Quit Trying to Avoid Change

Many of us get comfortable with the way things are, but the fact of the matter is that things change. You can’t depend on things staying the same in order to be happy.

Most of us are comfortable where we are even though the whole universe is constantly changing around us. Learning to accept this is vital to our happiness and general success. Because only when we change, do we grow, and begin to see a world we never knew was possible.

And don’t forget, however good or bad a situation is now, it will change. That’s the one thing you can count on. So embrace it, and realize that change happens for a reason. It won’t always be easy or obvious at first, but in the end it will be worth it.

Quit Blaming Others and Making Excuses

No matter whose fault things are, you can’t keep blaming others for what you have or don’t have. Because in the end, it’s you who has to deal with your life. And when you continue to blame others, you don’t take responsibility for the things that are wrong in your life. The first step in solving a lot of problems in your life is accepting the responsibility and therefore taking charge to make it right.

Quit Living in Another Time and Place

Stop lingering over what could have been, what you should have done, or what might happen.

The past is gone, and the future doesn’t exist. No matter how much time we spend thinking and lamenting about either, it doesn’t change anything.

[…]We need to live more in the moment. Living in the moment requires active, open, intentional awareness on the present. Don’t fantasize about being on vacation while at work, and don’t worry about the work piling up on your desk when you’re on vacation. Live for now. Notice the beauty unfolding around you.
