10 Products for the Home that Can Save You Money

One of the many benefits of doing things to try to save money is that they're often good for the environment too. So going green can mean saving green.

The Daily Green has pulled together a list of 10 products ("energy efficiency gadgets, smart lighting, cozy heating and more") that you can buy that will benefit the environment and help you save money over time. Six of them cost less than $100 each. We posted a couple below that got our attention.

One of our favorite sayings is that you can't manage it if you don't measure it. If you don't know how much energy (and, thus, money) you're wasting, it's hard to take action:
[An] Energy Meter with LCD Display takes the guesswork out of utility savings. Find out exactly how much energy your electronics and appliances are using, and what you can do to minimize that. Energy and cost awareness doesn't get any simpler than this.
And another one that caught our attention is the solar-powered motion sensor outdoor lights:
Your checkbook doesn't have to suffer to assure safety in and around your home. Solar-Powered Motion Sensor Outdoor Lights now rely on the sun to keep their rechargeable batteries up and running day-in and day-out. Hanging lanterns, driveway reflectors and other systems are also charged by day so they light up at nighttime.
Here's the full list of 10 items (click through the link at the bottom of this post to read more about each):
