You’ve already endured so much. You’re probably still crying about Jack and the crockpot (and all of the episodes leading up to the devastating moment). So don’t let this spoiler alert rumor bring you down even more!

All right, so fans have kind of been freaking out, understandably so, about a new rumor floating around about what’s going to happen when This Is Us starts up again (it’s currently on a break while the Winter Olympics are going on).

We all can’t just sit and wait for the next episode of course, we have to start wondering what’s going to happen and looking into super upsetting theories. So if you’re reading this right now, you probably can’t take it any longer and just have to know what’s going to happen. (We felt the same way.)

Well…this devastating theory is that…

Beth Pearson is going to die.

Um, I know. What. The. Heck. No No No NO.

At first, we tried everything to shut down this rumor as untrue, but to our dismay, it does sound like a good possibility.

One reason that this rumor started is that Beth wasn’t in the flash-forward scene with Randall and Tess. And did you notice how we didn’t see Randall’s hands once? Maybe because he might not be wearing his wedding ring?

His hands are also conveniently hidden in the below Instagram, photo posted by the actor who plays Randall, Sterling K. Brown.

Yes, this could also indicate a divorce between the two—and actually, that’s another theory that PopSugar proposed. That would still be devastating, but at least we wouldn’t have to endure another death!

The thing, and perhaps the biggest clincher, that has us going back to Beth possibly dying, is that there’s a TVLive blind item that states, “An extremely popular broadcast drama that’s been on the air for less than three seasons is eyeing a season-ending plot that would find a pivotal character being diagnosed with terminal cancer.”

They also alluded to this being another character, meaning one already died. And that sounds a heck of a lot like it could be about This Is Us.

Ugh. Say it ain’t so!

Our more rational thoughts? It would definitely be tough to pull off another death, but we know that if anyone can do it, it’s the writers behind this show. They’re constantly throwing curveballs at us and we honestly just can’t handle it.

Apparently the writers seriously just want us to constantly bawl our eyes out. If that’s the case, you win, writers! We surrender!

But we also kind of love it too. After all, that’s what makes the show so great! And ye, we’re obviously still going to watch. Will you be joining us?
