Sweet Potato Smoothie to Satisfy Your Ice Cream Craving

In the mood for an ice cream or a milkshake but can’t afford to eat all of those calories? Here’s your simple and brilliant solution. Did you know that you can use sweet potato to make a smoothie? In addition to adding a wonderfully, naturally sweet flavor to your smoothies, it also adds important nutrients like vitamin A, vitamin C, potassium, iron, calcium and more. Here’s what you need:

-1/2 cup sweet potato, cooked and mashed (no skin)
-1/2 large banana or 1 small banana (Try freezing your bananas in small chunks before adding to smoothies. It’s not necessary, but results in an icy cold, thick smoothie.)
-1 madjool date, pitted
-1 cup almond milk
-1/4 cup purified water
-2-3 ice cubes
-Dash of cinnamon

Pour all of your ingredients into a blender and blend until completely combined and smooth. Pour into a pretty glass to serve. Sprinkle with cinnamon to garnish if you desire!
