I don’t recall where I read this but a guy was moving his family down the east coast to Florida and when he went to rent a U-Haul he found it to be pretty pricy. He noticed they had used trucks for sale there at the U-Haul vendor so he bought one and when he got to Florida he sold it, I don’t recall if he broke even or made a little money on the truck but even if he lost a little money it was still way cheaper than what the rental truck would have cost him. I thought this was not only economical but quite shrewd. All he had to do was add the truck to his present insurance policy and you have 30 days on an intransit so he didn’t have to license the truck, pretty slick move.
