Storing Green Onions So They Last Longer

Want to make sure your green onions stay fresh until you’re able to use them all? Try some of these tricks you may not have known about from Frugal Living:

Window Storage

Put green onions in a jar and fill with an inch or so of water so that the roots are covered. Put this jar on a windowsill in your kitchen so that your onions will not only stay fresh; they’ll continue to grow. Just change/add water every couple of days.

Paper Towel Method

Dampen some paper towels and use them to wrap up green onions. Put these into a plastic bag or storage container. If your paper towel dries out, remoisten it. If it becomes too wet, then just replace it.
