Scooping and slicing ice cream with a knife? Sprinkling Jell-O powder in the empty carton? A treat that’s totally sweet and full of edible rainbows? It could only be the work of Yoyomax12!
Now, there’s nothing wrong with your traditional, vanilla — literally, vanilla — desserts. But if you’re looking to take your favorite sweet to the next level, this recipe is the perfect way to do it! This colorful idea will turn any old carton of vanilla ice cream into a rainbow tie-dye treat, perfect for any kids’ party or just for brightening up your after-dinner treat.
All you need to make this Instagram-worthy dessert are Jell-O packets in various colors and a carton of plain vanilla ice cream, preferably in a square, cardboard container.
Using the square cardboard container is preferred, as this packaging makes it easy to just peel away the paper and have a perfect block of ice cream that’s ready to go. You’re going to be dividing the ice cream out evenly, so this really just makes things easier for you.
However, if you can’t get your hands on a square cardboard package as used in the tutorial, any container of vanilla ice cream will do. In this case, you’ll just have to scoop out the entire tub of ice cream and divide it into portions from there. A little more labor intensive, but the end result is well worth it.
No matter how you’re doing it, you’ll need to divide the entire container of ice cream into six portions, and get to layering like she does in the video! For the full instructions on how to layer this frozen treat, make sure to watch the YouTube video below. It’s so easy to whip up and it will make for a dessert unlike anything you can find in the store.
