Oreo-Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

These unsuspecting cookies look just like robust chocolate chip cookies. But when you bite into them, your life is changed forever. I started making these cookies at Christmas time a few years ago, and it’s become a popular tradition that my family looks forward to. And thank goodness these cookies are only made once a year because they are impossible not to devour.

To make these, you basically need to make chocolate chip cookie batter (with a few alterations) and form the dough around the Oreos to seal them. Here’s what you need for ingredients to make 18-24 cookies (thanks to Bakerella for the specifics):

-8 oz (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
-3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
-1 cup sugar
-2 large eggs
-1 Tbsp vanilla extract
-3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
-1 tsp salt
-1 tsp baking soda
-10-12 oz bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
-1 pkg Double Stuf Oreo Cookies

And here’s what you do:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Add sugars and butters to the bowl of a stand mixer and beat until mixture is light and fluffy. Add in the eggs and vanilla and beat until well incorporated.
  3. In a separate large bowl, mix the flour, salt and baking soda with until combined. Then, a little at a time, slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until combined. Add in chocolate chips and mix well.
  4. Using an ice cream scoop, place a scoop of cookie dough on top of an Oreo cookie, and add a scoop to the bottom as well. Then seal the Oreo completely inside the cookie dough by pressing with your hands. Repeat until you’ve run out of cookie dough.
  5. Place cookies on prepared baking sheet a couple of inches apart and bake for 11-15 minutes (until cookies are cooked through and edges are lightly browned). Let cool for 5 minutes, the transfer to a cooling rack.
  6. Enjoy!
