How did you first become interested in saving money?
To me being frugal is just natural, I am so frugal that it hurts me when someone don’t know how to be frugal. I started frugality as a hobby in 2004. I found how that I could get almost everything for free, so I started clipping coupons, but these days the economy has made being frugal so easy because now every coupon under the sun is online. You don’t have to clip or look or even store any coupon, when you are ready to go do anything, and I mean anything, like shopping, going to restaurant, leisure activity just google whatever you are going to do with the word coupon and in an instant you can print the coupon for such thing that you are planning on doing, it is that easy.
What does being frugal mean to you?
It is an hobby and natural to me, because it has nothing to do with socio-economic status, I am in medical field and i made $120,000 yearly, but when you see me in the grocery store you will think I am on section eight, wic and other public assistance, because you will always see me busy with my coupon.
How has your life changed since you started living frugally?
I have four kids and I hardly feel that i have four kids because we I never pay regular price for anything, even my seven years old girl is a coupon daisy, before we go out she will ask me “Mommy do you have your coupon ready with you?”
What is your all-time favorite money-saving tip?
Even with the coupons, the best money saving deal is still getting brands new stuff with tags on them, things that are never used in yard sale for unbelievable price, and you don’t even need coupon.
Do you have any advice for fellow penny pinchers?
You have to love this hobby to do it, because a lot of my friends have tried to do this and they think it is alot of work, but for me it is my passion to save and the act itself makes me happy.
