You don’t need an expensive ice-cream-maker, crazy ingredients or even special tools and containers to make your very own homemade ice cream. All you need is everybody’s favorite multitasking tool – the mason jar! – and our easy recipe.
The key here? Don’t over-shake the cream! You want to make sure this one turns into ice cream, not full-on butter or whipped cream. Just remember to shake that mason jar only until the cream coats the back of a spoon, making sure to stop before you reach a full whipped cream stage.
Trying different fillings and upgrades? Getting your flavors right is all about the timing. If you’re using fruit, be sure to mash it up with the sugar before adding it to the cream and shaking.
If you’re using cookies or other dry ingredients, add them after you shake up the cream. (Your cookies will be crunchier that way!)
Play around with your timing, your mix-ins, and the level of sweetness in your mixtures to make the perfect ice cream for you and your family. This one’s so easy, you can try a new flavor every day!
