Amazing Websites You Never Knew Existed

There’s some amazingly useful websites online that people have never heard of. When I share these with my friends they’re like: “How did I not know about these sites before?”. Check them out below:

  1. CamelCamelCamel – Free Amazon Price Tracker. Tells you the price history of everything on Amazon. You can set up alerts to know when a product drops below a certain price.
  2. Mailbox Locator: Tells you the location of those USPS drop boxes (blue boxes) and postal centers near you.
  3. Can I stream it: Tells you if/where a movie is available for online streaming or rental.
  4. Flood Plain Search: Is your home located within a flood plain.
  5. Zip Code Map: Find the exact bounders of any zip code.
  6. FaxZero: Send a fax for free from your computer.
  7. Online Etymology Dictionary: Gives you the history and derivation of any word.
  8. Date to Date Calculator: Find how many days, months, years have passed between two dates.
  9. Ripe Tracker: Find out when your favorite fruit or veggies are at peak ripeness.
  10. Two Foods: compares the nutritional value of two separate foods side by side.
  11. Down for Everyone or Just Me: Tells you whether a site is down for everyone or if it’s your connection.
  12. Gutenbuerg Project: Offers 46,000 free ebooks. Non-profit project that puts classic books that are past copyright online and free for everyone to download.
  13. Missing Money: Find missing money that belongs to you such as forgotten bank accounts. I found two.
  14. PDFEscape: Edit a PDF online in your browser. Helpful when someone sends you a pdf form to fill out and send back via email. I usually have to do this a couple times per year.
  15. Readability: sometimes pages are noisy, or just plain hard to read. Readability is an app that will take an article and format it beautifully making it easy to read. I use it all the time for long articles.
  16. Screenr: Easy to make screencasts and share them.
  17. Account Killer: Shows you how to disable popular online social services.
  18. MyPermissions: Sometimes you use your Facebook, Twitter accounts as logins. This free app scans your social accounts letting you know who has permissions and lets you delete permissions easily.
