New Jersey is Opening Its 1st ‘Ice Cream Speakeasy’ for Adults Only

If you’ve ever had luxurious dreams of there being a dessert bar/lounge in existence, know that you can now visit one in New Jersey. Jersey City is officially the home of a boozy ice cream parlor.

Luigi’s Ice Cream has opened up an ice cream speakeasy inside an Ani Ramen restaurant that features alcohol-infused flavors. On social media, they are enticing customers to come and check out creations like RumChata sundaes and ice cream rolled with Godiva Dark Liqueur.

Situated in a back room of the restaurant, visitors will catch all the speakeasy vibes as they order up alcoholic and non-alcoholic treats. Yes, your underage friends and family can also enjoy some Luigi’s too! A small handful of regular ice cream goodies will also be available.

Owner Luigi Beltran has been in the ice cream business for more than minute with brick-and-mortar ice cream shops in two other New Jersey cities and a traveling food truck. A sampling of the speakeasy’s current menu includes Hennessy Pineapple, Bacardi Toasted Coconut, and Tequila Rose Strawberry Shortcake, but the offerings will rotate and introduce new combinations as well.

For now, customers can only enjoy these desserts year-round from Friday to Sunday, but the owner has plans to expand the hours and to other Ani Ramen locations. Those future plans also include new whiskey and sake-infused flavors!

Grab your date, ID, and head out to this backroom spot for a unique dining experience!

Does this ice cream shop sound like it would hit the spot for you? Which combo are you interested in trying?
