Today was one of those days where the urge to go to Starbucks almost overwhelmed me. I regularly brew my own coffee (Cafe Bustelo is my favorite – it’s super dark and a can of it costs less than $3 at my local grocery stores!) at home in the morning, and that’s usually enough to satisfy my need for caffeine throughout the day. However, sometimes there’s nothing I wouldn’t give for a nice cappuccino or latte. Alas, I do not have cappuccino maker and don’t foresee owning one in my immediate future. So I went exploring.

After a few minutes of browsing, I found this great YouTube video that claimed to show how to make a cappuccino without any equipment or machinery. I had to give it a try:

This method worked wonderfully for me. I brewed some really strong coffee to use instead of espresso (since I don’t have an espresso machine). I heated up the milk in the microwave for about 30 seconds, then shook the jar of milk for about a minute. Once I poured the milk into my mug of hot coffee (and spooned out the foam I had created), I had an instant cappuccino. I sprinkled some nutmeg and cinnamon on the top and I was good to go. I’m actually enjoying my homemade cappuccino as I write these words!
