How to Get Errands Done Quickly

Errands can take up a lot of your time if not planned accordingly, and we all know that time is money. By practicing a few methods, you should be able to save time, money, stress and a whole lot more when running errands. Take a look at some ideas from Reader’s Digest:

  • Group Your Errands: save time, money, gas and stress by grouping errands together. If you can help it, don’t just run out for one errand at a time.
  • Create an Errand Center in Your Home: set up a place where your family can drop library books that need to be returned, dry-cleaning that needs to be dropped off, packages or letters to be mailed, etc. This will make it easier to “bulk” errands together.
  • Keep an Errand List With You at All Times: you can keep this in a sturdy notebook, a smart phone, a blackberry, etc. This will prevent you from forgetting those little things you need to do. Consult your list every time you’re out and about.
  • Keep a Cooler and a Basket in Your Trunk: keep snacks and drinks handy in a cooler when you go out to do a bunch of errands. That way, you won’t be tempted to buy snacks or drinks while you’re out. The basket will help you carry your items in when you don’t have many helping h ands.
