Here’s How the New Royal Baby Is Doing Now That He’s Home

April has been a pretty busy month for the royal family! We’re not just talking about how Prince Harry and fiancée Megan Markle have been gearing up for their upcoming wedding in May. (Although that too—we can’t wait!) We’re talking about Prince William and wife Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton welcoming their third child into the world.

At 11 a.m. on April 23, the little boy was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, weighing in at a respectable 8 pounds, 7 ounces. The proud royal parents waved hello to fans and cameras showing off their new addition just a mere seven hours after the birth.

This isn’t William and Kate’s first rodeo. The two have two adorable children already, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. They’re both warming up to their new baby brother just fine.

In fact, earlier in the day of the birth, William brought the two to meet the little one, and they looked as happy as could be entering the hospital. George and Charlotte were actually born in the same hospital in the exact same wing—the Lindo Wing. It’s where many other members of the royal family were born as well.

But now that everyone’s home from the hospital—and all the cameras and chaos that followed the birth are gone—we’re dying to know: how is the little tot doing?

Well, he’s doing amazing! And so are the parents. In fact, it sounds like they’re doing even better than amazing. Even at just a few days old, William said his youngest was sleeping pretty well through the night—letting his parents get their much needed rest as well.

Most babies don’t sleep more than 2-4 hours at a time, especially in their first few weeks of life, so this must be a really nice change for them. Maybe the baby knows that his parents need some rest.

William also said that his newborn son was “behaving himself.” While we don’t think he could be getting into too much mischief at such a young age, we’re sure William means he’s just doing all the things a newborn should be doing—eating, sleeping, crying, and pooping, and everything is going as it should.

What’s most important is that William and Kate also mentioned that they’re absolutely delighted with the new edition. And third-time uncle Prince Harry also reassured the media that everyone is doing very well. It definitely sounds like everyone is adjusting great to the change.

The new royal baby is fifth in line of succession after Prince Charles, William, George and Charlotte. Prince Harry, who right now is fifth in line, will be bumped to sixth.
