You Have to See How This Dad Reacts to His Newborn’s Gender

Whether you choose to find out during a sonogram or right when the birth takes place, everyone will tell you that discovering the sex of a baby is a big deal. And though most parents out there are quick to proclaim that they couldn’t care less about a child’s gender, the fact remains that many do have their secret preferences!

Take the subject of today’s video, for instance. After having a whopping 5 girls in a row, the father has finally been gifted with something that he has clearly been wanting for a long time—a boy.

The clip starts with a close-up of the dad as he sits in an operating room. He’s decked out in layer upon layer of surgical scrubs—hair net, mask, the whole nine yards—so you can’t quite read his entire expression. Nevertheless, if you look closely at his eyes, you will see that the guy looks nervous. He’s clearly waiting for something big to happen.

Just off-camera, a voice – presumably that of a nurse or doctor – asks the waiting daddy an important question: “Do you want to know?”

Immediately, he nods his head eagerly. As a matter of fact, he doesn’t even need to ask what exactly the question is referring to—everyone involved must know that the sex of the baby is on his mind. After a tense millisecond, she responds with a cheery, “It’s a boy!”

Almost immediately, the dad leaps out of his seat and starts yelling and screaming in sheer excitement. To tell you the truth, the guy gets pretty rowdy, so much so that someone else in the room tells him to tone it down as it might “scare [the baby].” Pretty funny stuff!

Can you control your baby’s gender?

If you’re like the subject of today’s video, and you find yourself caring greatly about raising a little boy, you can always try the Whelan Method, which instructs prospective parents to wait 4 to 6 days before the start of ovulation to conceive a baby boy.

On the contrary, if baby girls on your brain, try out the Shettles Method. This technique dictates that female sperm travel slower than their male counterparts. Because of this, couples who are hoping for a girl should aim for a conception date that is about 2 days before ovulation starts.

Of course, if you’ve got money to burn, you can always consider single embryo in vitro fertilization. But, at about $20,000 a pop, this seems like a cost-prohibitive option for couples who could otherwise conceive naturally!

Even though some people swear by these controversial methods, we tend to think it’s best to roll the dice. At the end of the day, everyone just wants a healthy baby, anyways!
