Skype is a great way to get free calls to other Skype users, but what about when you need to make a call to someone who doesn’t have access to a computer or a smartphone? With Google+ Hangouts, you don’t have to be in front of a computer to enjoy free phone calls. Start by using the Hangouts with extras link. Then you’re able to invite up to two new participants when you type in their numbers.

Here’s how you do it:

1. Click the “Invite” at the top of the hangouts with extra window.
2. Click the “Phone” tab on the left of the window and then enter the phone number you’d like to call.
3. Click “Call now.”

With this feature, you won’t get the video conferencing or file sharing features, but you’ll be able to conference with people with non-smartphones for free!
