End-of-summer is the best time of the year for fruit picking and THE season for fruit cobblers when there are still plenty of fresh peaches, berries, and apples. And there is no better way to kick off the end-of-summer baking season than with a fresh, sweet and savory Peach Cobbler.

Did you know that Cobbler refers to a variety of dishes, particularly in the United Kingdom and the United States, consisting of a fruit or savory filling poured into a large baking dish and covered with a batter, biscuit, or dumpling before being baked?

In the 1800s, this dessert was ‘cobbled’ together by early American settlers using fruit – usually preserved, canned, or dried – and clumps of biscuit dough before baking it over an open fire. We prefer peaches recently picked of course!

So in less than an hour, you can create a masterpiece for the upcoming end-of-summer neighborhood celebration or office deck party. This easy Peach Cobbler recipe requires very little prep but everyone will think you were in the kitchen all morning.

Chef tips: When you pour the melted butter in the baking dish – Do not stir! And when you spread the peaches, and their liquid, evenly around the pan – Do not stir!
