In the Middle of Their Vows, the Bride and Groom Notice an Unusual Wedding Crasher Stealing the Spotlight

It’s fair to say that most brides and grooms don’t look forward to dealing with unexpected circumstances on their wedding days—i.e. scene-stealing uninvited guests. That being said, two kind-hearted newlyweds recently looked past a wedding crasher’s disturbance, and even went on to invite him into their home!

It all went down when a couple of gorgeous Brazilians by the names of Marilia and Matheus Pieroni were preparing to say their “I dos” in a tent in Sao Paolo last month. Now, it’s important to note that the said ‘tent’ was actually assembled because of good planning—the couple wanted to exchange their vows outside, but it ended up raining that day.

As it turns out, the many guests attending the ceremony weren’t the only ones who were thankful for the shelter from the rain; a stray dog showed his appreciation, too! That’s right, a homeless pup decided that he was sick of dealing with the chilly downpour, so he simply waltzed right into the tent—and fell asleep right on top of the bride’s veil. Yikes!

Obviously, the other guests tried their best to get the stray to leave, but the kind-hearted bride swears that she didn’t mind having the dog alongside her as she said her vows.

In an interview with The Dodo, Marilia describes what was going through her head when the stray dog made a temporary home for himself right smack dab on her veil.

“It was a very pleasant surprise for me because I love animals,” the bride said. “I liked it very much.”

Wow! We’re die-hard animal lovers, too, but we’re not ashamed to say that we wouldn’t have put up with a muddy dog stealing the spotlight on our wedding day. This lady takes the idea of “man’s best friend” to a whole new level!

As the ceremony and party continued on into the night, the wedding guests did everything they could to make the mysterious pup feel like he too had been sent an official invitation. But, true to his nature, the homeless doggy slipped away once the weather cleared up.

His departure ended up having quite the effect on the couple…their impromptu wedding mascot was gone. The two spent the following week trying to track him down, and when they did, something truly incredible happened—they adopted him!

“He came home and I showered him,” Marilia said. “He played a lot, ate, drank water. He is very happy and slept super good the first night.”

And THAT is how a family of two turned into a family of three, overnight! To see a ton of adorable pictures of the stray dog and his newlywed parents, be sure to watch the video below. That’s one way to make a splash at a wedding!

We’d love to hear your thoughts on this canine wedding crasher! Are you surprised that the couple was so accommodating towards the pup? Have you ever had to deal with a wedding crasher? Is your family dog a former stray?
