Here’s What You Should Use Instead of Wasting Money on Pricey Curtain Rods

Curtains are the perfect thing to maintain some privacy in your house, dress up a room, or even soften up some harsh-looking window blinds. But, to get curtains, you need one little thing – a curtain rod! Duh. If you’re struggling with how expensive curtains can be (no joke, they can get SHOCKINGLY pricey) save yourself a little money by not buying a curtain rod. Instead, make one with this simple DIY tutorial! Watch the video below to see how it’s done.

The replacement curtain rods? PVC pipes! You can get these pipes (and most of your other needed tools) at Walmart or a hardware store of your choosing.

From there, this DIY is really simple! Here’s what you’ll need to get started:

YOU’LL NEED

– Curtain Panels
– Curtain Hooks
– Spray Paint
– PVC Pipes
– PVC Pipe Elbows

STEP 1: Once all your material are purchased, connect your PVC pipes (if there’s a turn in your window, like there is in hers) with the PVC elbows.
STEP 2: Spray paint the rods any color you want. About three coats should do. Let them dry completely.
STEP 3: Put on your curtain panels.
STEP 4: Use hooks to hang up the PVC pipe rods above the windows.

Doesn’t get more simple than this project! In no time, you’ll have a customized curtain rod(s) to highlight your decor and accentuate your room.
