Costco’s “Adult” Ice Pops are Your New Summer Staple

We’re just days away from the start of summer, which means that we, for one, are pretty much ready to dunk our heads in the nearest cool body of water at all times. Yep, folks, it’s really, really scorching hot in our neck of the woods!

As a matter of fact, it’s SO hot, we haven’t eaten a warm meal in a week. It’s been only salads, cold sandwiches, and lots and lots of ice water, ice cream, and popsicles to cool us down in between. Hey — who said we couldn’t partake in any sweet treats? They are summertime staples after all!

But — and this is a big but — we don’t want our BUTT to get too big by the time the solstice hits. All of those cool, sugary treats are satisfying, but they’re not exactly helping our “cellulite remediation plan.” So, when we recently got word from our favorite wholesale warehouse store of all time that it had quite the amazing low-calorie frozen sweet in its aisles, we knew we had to brave the weekend crowd and get some for ourselves.

Oh…and did we mention that these low-calories frozen sweets are also chock-full of vodka? Yep, it’s safe to say that we got our butts over to Costco really quick when we learned about that sweet detail.

The incredible product is made by an innovative company called Slim Chillers. These saint-like folks have somehow managed to package a freezer pop that’s a) super sweet, b) has only 100 calories, and c) contains 8% vodka!

The product is called Skinny Freezers and it comes in a variety of “martini-inspired” flavors, like the cosmopolitan, watermelon lemonade, appletini, and lemon drop.

In an interview with PEOPLE, Slim Chillers founder, Phil Hurley, explained what initially lead him on this journey to make low-calorie, vodka-infused freezer pops.

“Even after just a few fruit margaritas, I always happened to notice my bellybutton inching further away from my spine, and my pants starting to look like leggings,” Hurley said. “My primary goal was not to eliminate the sugar, but to lower it to a point where you could still enjoy your cocktail, but with a lot less guilt.”

Hurley sure does solve a problem with his product; after all, a 12-ounce margarita will set you back a whopping 680 calories! With those numbers, you could have almost seven Skinny Freezers!

Ok, we’re not saying you should, but you could…

Where you can nab your own pack of Skinny Freezers

So, now that you know all about the hottest summer treat, it’s time for you to get your hands on a pack of your own.

As we mentioned, you can find Skinny Freezers at select Costco stores this summer–but only if you live in California, Arizona, Nevada, and Colorado. If that’s not you, you can also purchase them at BevMo, or select liquor stores in California.

If you don’t happen to have any of those options near you, you can always use the power of the Internet and order a 12-pack on their website.

Sweet deal!

We’d love to hear your thoughts on Skinny Freezers! Have you tried them before? If so, what’s your favorite flavor? Do you make similar ones at home?
